"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" -- Charles Caleb Colton (1780-1832)

So it turns out that earlier today, someone was going around impersonating me, using an account with a very similarly spelled username and the same avatar as me, posting disparaging remarks towards another artist on this site.

If you saw one of those comments, I apologize that you had to see that, but that was not me posting those comments. I believe I've deleted all of the comments that person spammed over my profile, but if you see one I missed, please let me know.

And just in case this happens again, I just wanna make three things very clear:

1) I never post false / disparaging / insulting / hateful / calling out / accusatory / etc comments directed towards other people. If there's someone I dislike (and that's a very small group of people), I simply block them, leave it at that, and move on with life.

2) If you see someone who appears to be me posting such comments, check their username and profile. If their name isn't spelled "joeyh3" and they've not been a member of DA for half a decade, again it's not me.

3) While I am indeed a staff member on a particular website dedicated to MLP fan art, I do not, never have, and never will post "official statements" on behalf of that website or it's staff outside of that website and it's official social media accounts. For all intents and purposes, I do not represent myself as a staff member of that website outside of that website.

I got back from BronyCon yesterday, and can safely, confidently say that it was the best one I've experienced yet. I've met and hung out with more people at this convention than I have at all the previous cons I've been to combined.

I spent most of the weekend taking photographs. I've already sorted and organized them, so now I just have to do some post-processing and they should be up within a few days. I have a few pictures that I'm really excited about showing off, because they came out amazingly well, in my opinion. The Friday night cosplay photoshoot produced some really nice ones, but the Saturday photoshoot was a disorganized train wreck, so I just left that one early. The rest of the photos just came from me wandering around the convention.

I met a ton of great people at the convention, as well as a ton of artists I really admire, way too many to list. But I did want to give a few shoutouts:

dustysculptures - it's always a great pleasure seeing you man, and I'm glad I got to hang out with you again for a while at this convention

WhiteDiamondsLtd - it was a completely unexpected, but very awesome surprise to see you at this convention. It was really nice being able to chat with you for a while, and I hope to see you at the next one!

Nyaseiru - lots of fun hanging out with you as well, as well as everyone else who has a seat at your your extremely large, magically teleportating lunch table

kawaiipony2 - it was nice to finally meet you as well. Also, you draw way too much cute stuff, I think I probably bought more prints from your table then any other one at the con =P

Ten years I've been waiting to see those words on the big screen again.

It was worth every second of the wait.

BronyCon 2015

2 min read
I just got home a little over an hour ago and immediately became lazy and started watching Anthology again... Uh, started unpacking... Yeah =P

Anyway, the convention was amazing! I got the chance to meet several artists whom I've always admired, meet a few friends from DA, and hang out with other friends who I've not seen since the last year.

Panels:
There weren't too many panels that seemed all that interesting to me this year, so I only went to a few of them. The Anthology V panel was the one I wanted to see most, and I got in (an already very long) line almost an hour early. Totally worth it though. Anthology has always been one of my more favorite fandom projects, and this one completely delivered. If you've not seen it yet, it's worth checking out:

(And yay, they remembered Blossomforth!)

Photos:
I used this convention to try out a few new techniques for photography that I've learned recently. So far, the results seemed to have come out much better than last year. However, it's going to take a few days before I'm done and ready to post everything, as I have several hundred images to go through (over 22GB in size).

Also, it's worth noting that I managed to drain my camera's battery from fully charged to almost dead in just three days. Normally I go 3-4 months between recharges.

Finally, would anyone want me to upload the photos to DA, or should I just keep them all on Flickr like I normally do?

Vendors Hall/Artist Alley:
Every con I go to, I always have the goal to not completely empty my wallet in the vendors hall. This year, I failed less than I normally do, but didn't exactly succeed either. Why must there always be so much awesome stuff? :D

That's all I have to mention for now. I still gotta finish unpacking, get dinner, and I'm also pretty tired. Overall though, it was a blast! Definitely going again next year!
